Jan Syrigos Joins MCHF as Communications Specialist
The Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation welcomes Jan Syrigos to their team as the new Communications Specialist. Jan has worked for the Missouri Department of Conservation as a Naturalist at Runge Conservation Nature Center and most recently as a Special Programs Coordinator with the Policy Coordination Unit. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Missouri in Forestry Management with an emphasis in Interpretation/Education. In her career Jan has worked for the U.S. Forest Service in Minnesota, several non-profit ministries, and in MDC’s Fisheries, Wildlife, Resource Science and Forestry Divisions.
Over the last 7 years, Jan and her family have operated their own environmental education company which serves teachers, leaders and students in the Midwest. With her experience in both public and private sectors, Jan brings a valuable background to the Foundation in communication, marketing and public relations.
Jan, her husband George and daughter Sophia live north of Jefferson City and enjoy canoeing, kayaking, hiking and making music together.
Jan is eager to join the team at MCHF to continue to grow the conservation legacy in Missouri. MCHF works with the Conservation Department and its partners to fund projects that address critical conservation and outdoor recreation needs. Jan began her duties as Communications Specialist on March 1, 2016.
