National Lewis and Clark Conservation Awards to Highlight Outstanding Achievement in Conservation
Missouri Department of Conservation presents Partnership Awards in Celebration of 80th Anniversary
Honorees Include Hall of Fame Professional Bass Anglers Bill Dance, Jimmy Houston and Roland Martin; Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Noted Conservationist Glenn Chambers and vital conservation partners across the state.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation will honor conservation heroes at its National Lewis and Clark Conservation Awards event at the Wonders of Wildlife Museum and Aquarium/White River Conference Center in Springfield, Missouri on September 22, 2017. This annual event recognizes individuals and organizations that have made noteworthy impacts on conservation in Missouri and beyond.
Hall of Fame Professional Bass Anglers Bill Dance, Jimmy Houston and Roland Martin will be honored at the awards banquet with the National Lewis and Clark Conservation Corps of Discovery Award. This is the highest award given by the Foundation for conservation leadership at the national level. These three men have provided exemplary service, inspiration, commitment and distinction through a lifetime of efforts benefiting the conservation cause.
In conjunction with the Lewis and Clark awards, the Missouri Department of Conservation and the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Department and the 20th anniversary of the Foundation with a “100 years of Missouri Conservation, Partnerships and Philanthropy” celebratory reception at 4:00 p.m. MDC will award the Missouri Department of Conservation Partnership Awards to agencies and organizations who have supported the conservation cause in Missouri.
The reception for both events will take place from 4:00-7:00 p.m. The National Lewis & Clark formal banquet and awards ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $125 for both the awards and the reception, $35 for just the reception.
