Sponsored by Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation, this annual event, slated for September 22, 2018, will 
honor individuals and organizations that have made a noteworthy impact on the spirit of conservation and conservation causes. The awards event will include a thematic dinner and ceremony. The location for the event will be released soon.
Among other winners, this year the Foundation is honoring Tim Guraedy, a.k.a. “Mountain Man” from Duck Dynasty. Guraedy was born in Louisiana and spent time in Minnesota, Indiana, and Tennessee where he attended Volunteer State Community College. He returned to Monroe, Louisiana and is a neighbor of the Robertson’s, the legendary family of Duck Dynasty. Mountain Man became a part of Duck Dynasty, adding to the humor and antics of the show. Mountain Man is famous for his radio show Big Z Country where he has gained listeners from around the world. In 2014, he released his book Keepin’ a Slow Profile with a forward written by Jase Robertson.
Lewis and Clark were explorers, scientists, entrepreneurs, geographers, diplomats and front runners of conservation in the United States. They overcame significant obstacles and challenges leading the Corps of Discovery through unforeseen circumstances and difficulties to achieve their nation’s charge and change America forever. In the spirit of the Corps, the Lewis and Clark Conservation Awards will recognize those who have provided exemplary service, inspiration and commitment to the conservation cause.
