This grant is a result of a partnership between Springfield-Greene County Park Board (SGCPB), Springfield Public School (SPS) and the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC). These three groups have formed a unique partnership to promote archery in Greene County by utilizing established programs including the MoNASP, Schools-Parks Are Reaching Communities (SPARC), and the SGCPB summer camp program. Through these efforts, students enrolled in SPS (7-12) are given the opportunity to experience archery multiple times a year including during the school day through MoNASP. After school as part of the SPARC program and again during the SGCPB summer camp experience.
This grant will be used to purchase archery equipment and a small box trailer to haul and store the equipment. The trailer and equipment will be used to support archery programs at SPARC and SGCPB summer camps. The equipment will serve to strengthen NASP style archery and increase awareness of the MoNASP program.
