Conservation partners across the Western Hemisphere are embarking on a range-wide Wood Thrush Motus-tagging project with a goal of deploying 600 Motus tags on Wood Thrush across their breeding and wintering ranges from 2024-2026! This international project will provide new insights into Wood Thrush migration, including migratory connectivity, timing, and departure dates and how those vary across this species full range. Local tracking of birds pre-migration on both the breeding and wintering grounds will help to answer questions about Wood Thrush survival across the full annual cycle.
