For Carroll Wilkerson and Jared Reynolds, (from left above) following their passion for conservation is not just a leisure pursuit, it’s a business rule. That’s why the two financial advisors, who own Wilkerson & Reynolds Wealth Management in Columbia, recognized their clients’ birthdays since 2011, with donations made in their clients’ names to the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation.

“We follow the advice of a business coach,” said Wilkerson, “who encourages us to incorporate the things we value into our business, and share what we value with our clients.” Added Reynolds, “Our clients can see that we put thought behind our 2010 gifts to them, and that is meaningful to our business.” The business partners have a combined 35 years of financial experience and provide financial services to more than 800 individuals.

Reynolds, who grew up on Truman Lake where his parents owned a marina, and Wilkerson, who earned a degree in fish and wildlife management before entering the financial world, both come from rural backgrounds and grew up hunting and fishing.

“We know that to continue enjoying wildlife and the outdoors, we need to give something back, said Reynolds. “What we especially like about the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation,” he continued, “is the ability to donate to the specific areas of conservation that most interest us. We know our donations are going to well-planned projects, and with the Foundation, we can bypass a lot of paperwork to get funds directed to needed conservation projects.”marktwainlak112_RJ

“We’ve gotten an incredible response from the cards,” said Reynolds. “Our clients are pleased that gifts in their honor are going to such a good organization.”
