At its Board meeting on February 13, 2013 in Jefferson City, Missouri the MCHF Board approved funding for 10 projects for the Missouri Department of Conservation.
This funding is made possible through private donations to MCHF and revenue from MCHF Conservation License Plate donations:
Community Archery Grant Program for City and County Parks: $5000 Funding will be used to develop a competitive grant administered through the Missouri Department of Conservation, to help communities develop or increase activity in recreational archery shooting within their city, town or county.
Slabtown Access Construction Project: $4,000. Funds will be used to replace an eroding gravel boat launch with a concrete structure on the Big Piney River.
Missouri Girls Discovering Nature (Northeast Missouri): $2,500. The Missouri Girls Exploring Nature is a three day camp hosted by conservation agents in the Northeast Region. The camp is offered to young ladies between the ages of 11 and 15. The camp teaches a variety of outdoor skills including canoeing, hunter education, hiking, fishing and camping. Approximately 50 young girls attend the 3 day course.
Missouri Girls Discovering Nature (St. Louis Area): $1,500. The Missouri Girls Exploring Nature is a three day camp hosted by conservation agents in the Saint Louis Region. The camp is offered to young ladies between the ages of 11 and 15. The camp teaches a variety of outdoor skills including canoeing, hunter education, hiking, fishing and camping. Approximately 50 young girls attend the 3 day course.
Missouri Girls Discovering Nature (Northwest Missouri): $3,000.The Missouri Girls Exploring Nature is a three day camp hosted by conservation agents in the Northwest Region. The camp is offered to young ladies between the ages of 11 and 15. The camp teaches a variety of outdoor skills including canoeing, hunter education, hiking, fishing and camping. Approximately 50 young girls attend the 3 day course.

The camp is offered to young ladies between the ages of 11 and 15. The camp teaches a variety of outdoor skills including canoeing, hunter education, hiking, fishing and camping. Approximately 50 young girls attend the 3 day course.
Smithville Lake Disabled Deer and Turkey Hunt and Youth Deer and Turkey Hunt and Smithville Lake Eagle Day: $4,500.Funds will be used to assist in covering the cost of special fiberglass hunting blinds for special hunts and Eagle Days at Smithville Lake.
Stone Mill Spring Recreation Area Disabled Angler Access Project: $7,560. Funds will be used to help cover the cost of a 12’x7’ handicap accessible fishing pier and parking area for disabled users. Stone Mill Spring is adjacent to the Big Piney River on Mark Twain National Forest Property taht is accessed thorugh Fort Leondard Wood.
Southeast Missouri Feral Hog Eradication Program: $1,500. Funds will be used to help purchase equipment for feral hog eradication efforts in southeast Missouri. This is a cooperative project with conservation and agricultural groups.
Joplin Tree Replanting: $5,350. Funds will be used to help cover costs of watering tubes for the tree planting effort in Joplin Missouri.
