Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation (MCHF) Partners with Student Air Rifle Program (SAR)
(OAK RIDGE, MO, June 26, 2024)– The Student Air Rifle Program (SAR) is excited to announce the addition of the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation (MCHF) as a Gold Sponsor.
MCHF advances the conservation and appreciation of Missouri’s forest, fish and wildlife resources by applying financial support. In collaboration with donors and other partners, MCHF supports projects dedicated to preserving, conserving and enhancing Missouri’s fish, forests and wildlife resources and projects designed to promote citizen opportunities to use, appreciate, enjoy and learn about those resources.
“Providing students with an opportunity to learn firearms safety through an educational target shooting program helps them develop effective decision-making skills, responsibility, accountability, respect, integrity and teamwork. MCHF is excited to support SAR in Missouri, helping facilitate the advancement of the skills needed to learn this lifelong sport. Target shooting is an activity that can lead to participation in hunting, and we eagerly support programs that help youth become more comfortable getting outdoors to enjoy our natural resources.” mentioned Tricia Burkhardt, MCHF Executive Director.
The support from MCHF will contribute to the growth of SAR specifically in Missouri as the program and impact continues to scale. “We are so thankful to have MCHF as a partner to help deliver on our mission to provide safe and fun shooting sports education to schools. Their support will provide even more student athletes opportunities to participate and perfect their skills in a safe and supervised format to lay the foundation for a lifetime of recreational and competitive shooting sports.” shared Pam Rowe, Missouri SAR Coordinator.
To date, over 10,000 Missouri students have participated in SAR from nearly 40 Missouri schools. In addition, SAR just completed its first in-person National Tournament in Festus, Missouri this past December 2023.
