2015 NPS Big Springs Wounded Warrior Mobility Impaired Managed Deer Hunt

The National Park Service (NPS) has held a Wounded Warrior Mobility Impaired Managed Deer Hunt in the past two years – 2013 and 2014. The managed hunt is held in the NPS Big Springs refuge of Van Buren, Missouri. MDC has provided staff to help with this hunt during the past two years, but has not provided equipment or funding. This grant will be used to purchase additional equipment to expand the number of hunters who may participate; the hunt will be expanded by ten hunters. This requires additional blinds and specialized chairs with gun rests. Many hunters have desired to process their own deer. Two cleaning station tables, two game processing kids and two hitch grapples to hang the deer will also be purchased. This funding will assist with purchase of the additional equipment and food and drink for the participants.

Funding Amount:$2,000
