East Gate Access Canoe/Boat Ramp – US Forest Service

The East Gate Access on the Big Piney River is managed by the Houston/Rolla/Cedar Creek Ranger District of the Mark Twain National Forest (MTNF). The area is located in Pulaski County, approximately 15 miles southeast of Waynesville and nearby Fort Leonard Wood’s East Gate entrance. It serves as the only developed Forest Service access in Pulaski County and ties in with the other Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC)-managed Big Piney River access points including Ross Bridge, approximately 12 miles upstream.

This access is for anglers and canoe/kayak recreationists, serving the primary smallmouth bass and rock bass fisheries on the Big Piney River. It is a primary put-in/take-out for private recreationists and Fort Leonard Wood military personnel, and is also used by hikers, hunters and others seeking remote outdoor recreation experience.
