Higgins Ditch/Locust Creek Grade-Control Structures

Stream Stewardship Trust funds in the amount of $109,099 were used to pay for the installation of two grade-control structures in the pirating headcut channel from Higgins Ditch to Locust Creek in Linn County, and notching of two levees on the east side of Locust Creek to restore hydrology and protect wetlands in Locust Creek through the Missouri Department of Natural Resources' Pershing State Park. Without this project, complete loss of Locust Creek through the park is probable.
