Indian Creek Erosion Control

Stream Stewardship Trust Funds allowed MCHF to fund stream bank erosion problems at this site on private property along Indian Creek. The site is upstream of the Town Hole Access aquatic Conservation Opportunity Area; stream bank improvements will benefit the COA: Indian Creek has been identified as a major contributor of nutrients to Elk Creek, and excluding livestock from the stream and reestablishing a forested stream buffer will help slow nutrients entering the stream at this locality. The project will also serve as a demonstration area for other local landowners. NRCS will assist with revegetation and livestock exclusion.
