Little Pomme de Terre River Protection

Foundation funds of $4,345.39 payed for the installation of longitudinal fill stone toe protection on 255 feet of stream bank along the Little Pomme de Terre River in Polk County on a landowner's dairy farm, as well as protection of an adjoining riparian corridor. The site is within an area under a 15-year federal CP2 riparian buffer with a livestock-exclusion fencing agreement currently under construction. A 0.7-acre riparian area and 0.44 acre of stream channel will be protected for a 30-year contract period.
