MO River Bird Observatory – HiLonesome Prairie Project

This project will help expand grassland birds monitoring on MDC conservation areas via breeding season productivity studies and post-management bird surveys. This innovative approach to grassland bird surveys is both statistically robust and conducive to elucidating habitat associations of species that tend to be patchily distributed. With this funding, these surveys will be expanded to full migration season. The proposed migration work will lead to a greater understanding of how birds use grassland habitat within Missouri conservation areas.
