LaBarque Creek Watershed Protection

Stream Stewardship Trust Funds in the amount of $13,250 were used to purchase a 5.87-acre tract of land adjacent to the Young Conservation Area in Jefferson County. The tract includes a section of LaBarque Creek, a Missouri Department of Conservation-identified priority watershed threatened with development. EPA funds of $19,250 were also applied toward this purchase.

LaBarque Creek Watershed Land Acquisition

Stream Stewarship Trust Funds in the amount of $181,500 were used to acquire a 200-acre tract of land with 2,400 feet of Labarque Creek, a permanently flowing Ozark Border stream supporting 42 species of fish. The purchase furthers Labarque Creek watershed protection goals.
