MCHF funds used to pay for conversion of old fields to native prairie plantings at Burr Oak Woods Conservation Nature Center in Jackson COunty for quail and other upland species abd visitor education (250,000 annual visitors).
Maries River Bank Stabilization
Stream Stewardship Trust Funds in the amount of $14,948 were used for 50% of installation of seven bendway weirs to stabilize an eroding bank along the lower Maries River in Osage County. Thirty-year easement. Other Partner: Osage County Soil and Water Conservation District ($5,000), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service ($2,500) and landowners ($2,500).
Missouri River Relief Cleanup Support
MCHF funds provided support for three cleanup days and three educational events associated with 2006 Missouri River Relief events in St. Charles, at the mouth of the Osage River and in Kansas City.
Davisdale CA Woodland Improvements
An MCHF Conservation Partnership grant helped fund to improve approximately 200 acres of woodland on Davisdale Conservation Area.
Bohigian Conservation Area Land Acquisition
Stream Stewardship Trust Funds in the amount of $352,128 provided to purchase 168 acres, now part of the Bohigian Conservation Area. This land in Phelps County includes 1.26 miles of Mill Creek, a Blue Ribbon Trout Area containing a population of naturally reoroducing rainbow trout.
