An MCHF Conservation Partnership Grant provided funding for Missouri River Relief to conduct a series of activities in the Manitou Bluffs COA in celebration of Stream Teams’ 20th Anniversary: river clean-ups, education events and stewardship. Other contributors were MDC, USFWS, volunteer labor, Central Bank, MidMO Solid Waste Management, Mo American Water, TWW, Pat Jones.
Bryson’s Hope CA Addition
In 2008—with a gift of $50,000 donated by a private individual—the Foundation was able to purchase 90 acres of land to become part of Bryson’s Hope Conservation Area. An MCHF Conservation Partnership grant provided funds to purchase materials and assist with funding to a contract to improve the waterline to Skidmore Marsh, a 100-acre constructed wetland on Truman Reservoir.
Sugar Creek Watershed Protection
Stream Stewardship Trust Fund dollars were applied to restore and protect a natural riparian corridor on about 42 acres of priate farmland along the mainstem and spring-fed tributaries of Sugar Creek in Harrison County.
