You continue to support and protect Missouri streams as the Missouri Stream Team Program turns 25!
The Missouri Stream Team Program is a citizen-led effort to conserve Missouri streams. The program is sponsored by the Missouri Department of Conservation, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the Conservation Federation of Missouri. The focus of the program is on education, stewardship and advocacy for Missouri’s stream resources.
The many accomplishments of the Stream Team Program over the last 25 years include removing 20 million pounds of trash from Missouri streams, planting more than one-quarter of a million trees along Missouri streams and conducting more than 25,000 water quality monitoring trips statewide. For many, the most visible sign of the program is the mesh trash bags that you will see in canoes, rafts and other watercraft along Missouri streams. For many years, these bags, provided to individuals and canoe outfitters by the Stream Team Program and partially funded by the Foundation, and your efforts to fill them with cans and other trash have helped to make Missouri streams better.
