A Missouri Department of Conservation Partnership grant from MCHF provides funding to help the Missouri Hunter Heritage Foundation expand programming. The Missouri Hunting Heritage Foundation exists to introduce youth and their families to the hunting experience. The program provides youth hunting clinics, using hunter education classes and hunter education instructors to teach firearm safety. The experience also includes a closely monitored hunt after the students successfully completes the hunter education class. Funds will be used to purchase equipment and educational supplies and produce training manuals and videos which will allow the Missouri Hunting Heritage Foundation to expand the program in 2011. In 2010 the Missouri Hunter Heritage Foundation will host 10 events with 5 to 6 youth participating in each event. To date, 20 events have been held with 129 graduating from the course.
