Bohigian Conservation Area Land Acquisition

Stream Stewardship Trust Funds in the amount of $352,128 provided to purchase 168 acres, now part of the Bohigian Conservation Area. This land in Phelps County includes 1.26 miles of Mill Creek, a Blue Ribbon Trout Area containing a population of naturally reoroducing rainbow trout. Funding from the Missouri Department of Conservation and private donors, including Dr. George Bohigian, was used to acquire 437 additional acres of the tract. The conservation area connects two other segments of Mill Creek owned by the U.S. Forest Service.
