Southwest Missouri Envirothon

The Southwest Regional Envirothon Competition is an annual environmental based competition to test the knowledge and understanding of students. The students are tested in five different categories (forestry, wildlife, soils, aquatics, and a current issue) plus an oral presentation. During the competition, the teachers are involved in a Teach the Teacher Workshop to help them become better environmental science educators. This training helps the teachers to be better equipped to teach their students.  The goal of this event is that each student leave with a deeper understanding of environmental science and natural resource management concepts.
