See Missouri’s Songbirds Wintering in Honduras

If you’ve ever wanted to see firsthand where some of Missouri’s songbirds go during the winter, or visit a tropical country, join us on a 12-day natural history and birding adventure in Honduras. Our Migratory Birds Advisory Board, along with Beaks and Peaks Tour Company,  have put together an exclusive tour so you can experience the local culture and some of the most pristine natural lands in Central America.

12-day itinerary

Experienced tour guides will introduce you to diverse rainforests, impressive mountains and tropical coasts. Meet, speak and dine with local families who are eager to share their rich culture and their conservation efforts. See examples of the natural habitats the Foundation and the Missouri Department of Conservation are helping to preserve in conjunction with other organizations in Honduras. Look for Missouri birds, such as orioles, tanagers, warblers, indigo buntings and wood thrushes at their wintering grounds, as well as Central American specialties like motmots, parrots, toucans and trogons. The trip also includes a visit to the Mayan ruins of Copan.

Tour groups are small – only 4-8 people in each group. This allows the guides to tailor the trip to the group’s interests and travel flexibility. Tour dates are January 27 to February 7, 2019 and February 18 to March 1, 2019.

For more information or to book the trip, contact Beaks and Peaks.
