The main accomplishment for the grant received from MCHF was to provide a quality hunt for our disabled and youth hunters. This year with the very bitter cold temperatures the blinds that we have purchased provided a warm and protective cover for our hunters which in turn allowed them to hunt longer and enjoy the outdoors better.
Five blinds were purchased in 2014 and added to other blinds purchased from previous grants awarded from MCHF. This allowed the 43 disabled hunters that had to face very cold temperatures be able to stay in the woods longer. As a result, the hunters harvested 40 deer over the weekend.
Twenty-six youth hunters show up for the Saturday hunt and harvested six deer. On Sunday we had 25 hunters return with four deer harvested.
