The Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation (MCHF) is pleased to announce its application for accreditation to the land trust accreditation program. This program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands forever.
“The opportunity to apply for accreditation to the Land Trust Alliance shows the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to advancing conservation and the appreciation of Missouri’s natural resources, environments and wildlife,” said MCHF Executive Director Tricia Burkhardt. “The rigorous accreditation process will provide further validation of our dedication to Missouri conservation and enables us to work with strategic partners to continue the protection and conservation of the outdoors for the future.”
The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, conducts an extensive review of each applicant’s policies and programs. This independent verification of our high standards of practice in conservation will help us to do even more to advance the conservation and appreciation of forest, fish and wildlife resources to the benefit of all Missourians.
The Commission invites public input and accepts signed, written comments on pending applications. Comments must relate to how the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation complies with national quality standards. These standards address the ethical and technical operation of a land trust. For the full list of standards see, landtrustaccreditation.org/help-and-resources/indicator-practices.
