DeKalb County Upland Game Bird Youth Day 2008

MCHF funds provided matching funds to purchase upland birds and other event supplies for the DeKalb Coounty Upland Game Bird Youth Day. This event was held September 20, 2008 for 20 youth as a part of the Northwest youth hunter recruitment program.

Big Creek Conservation Area/Thousand Hills State Park Woodland Restoration

MCHF funds provided for the restoration of a 400-acre woodland unit at Big Creek Conservation Area/Thousand Hills State Park in Adair County, in partnership with Missouri Department of Natural Resources-State Parks in a conservation opportunity area.

LaBarque Creek Conservation Area Footbridge

MCHF funds used for the construction of a footbridge at Labarque Creek Conservation Area, to prevent steambank erosionand to provide year-round access.

Moniteau County Cultipaker Seed Boxes

MCHF funds provided to purchase seed boxes for an existing Moniteau County Soil and Water Conservation District cultipacker. Landowners use the cultipacker to convert fescue grasslands into more wildlife-friendly grasslands. Seed boxes will enhance the preparation of planting sites and direct seeding of grasses and forbes.

Quail Emphasis Area Invasive Plant Control

MCHF funds provided to purchase supplies for invasive plant control on approximately 150 acres on Harmony Mission Lake and Peabody Conservation Area, a Quail Emphasis Area.
