Little Niangua River Low-Water Crossing Replacement

Stream Stewardship Trust Fund dollars were allocated to replace a low-water crossing over Little Niangua River at Dallas County School Road with a clear-span bridge. Partner funds ($25,000) from Dallas County Commission, ($75,000) from USFWS & ($20,000) from MDC. 30-yr easement.

Horse Creek Land Acquisition

Stream Strewardship Trust funds in the amount of $55,500 were provided for a land acquisition of Horse Creek area adjacent to Angeline Conservation Area in the Current River watershed, which is a Conservation Opportunity Area (COA). Center Creek Grade Control Structure

Stream Stewardship Trust funds in the amount of $50,000 were provided to design and install a grade-control structure to stabilize the streambed of Center Creek (in the Spring River watershed), Lawrence County, and provide a stable crossing for light equipment and livestock.

Little Wilson Creek Stabilization Structure(s)

Stream Stewardship Trust funds in the amount of $50,000 were provided to install a rip rap rock stabilization structure(s) as designed by a certified engineering firm or MDC engineers to stabilize 330 ft. of eroding bank on Little Wilson Creek in the Pomme de Terre watershed (Polk County).

Draffen Branch Free-Span Bridge

Stream Stewardship Trust funds in the amount of $30,000 were provided to construct a free-span bridge and remove a low-water crossing on Sandband Drive across Draffen branch (Moniteau Creek tributary) in Cooper County. The crossing removal will improve passage for aquatic life including the Topeka Shiner.
