Streambank Stabilization along Little Platte River

Streambank stabilization techniques to protect and restore riparian buffers, floodplain and associated uplands on private land along the Little Platte River, an MDC-targeted watershed in northwestern Missouri.

Operation Wild Lands in the LaBarque Creek Watershed

This project leverages existing partnership with Friends of LaBarque Creek Watershed Coalition and the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) to implement community-based management of LaBarque Creek Conservation Area (CA), specifically targeting LaBarque Creek CA, Young CA and Glassberg Family CA through the Operation Wild Lands (OWLs) program.

LaBarque Creek Watershed Protection

Stream Stewardship Trust Funds in the amount of $13,250 were used to purchase a 5.87-acre tract of land adjacent to the Young Conservation Area in Jefferson County. The tract includes a section of LaBarque Creek, a Missouri Department of Conservation-identified priority watershed threatened with development. EPA funds of $19,250 were also applied toward this purchase.

Conservation Easement in Warren County

Stream Stewardship Trust Fund dollars allowed MCHF to underwrite stewardship fees and other easement-related expenses of the Ozark Regional Land Trust, which is holding the permanent easement on 1,000 acres in Warren County donated by private invididuals.
