Due to the overwhelming popularity of the National Archery in Schools Program (NASP), as well as resurgence in the sport of archery as a lifetime skill, the need for community archery ranges has increased over the past several years. This funding will help communities develop recreational archery opportunities. Many times communities have either no ranges or ranges which are in desperate need of repair. In order to allow for people to practice their skills of archery shooting, this program will help to build or refurbish existing ranges. Many communities seem to have the desire to build such a facility, but lack funds. Communities will be allowed to apply for small grants through the Missouri Department of Conservation to provide those facilities.
