NOTE: We are accepting RFPs for FY 2024. They are due October 1, 2023.

Projects funded by the Foundation must be endorsed by the Missouri Department of Conservation.

Conservation Department staff submits proposals for projects they initiate or that they endorse on behalf of partner groups. These projects address priority conservation and outdoor recreation needs.

The Foundation Board of Directors—comprised of conservation, community and business leaders—makes the project funding decisions.

Projects with the greatest likelihood of receiving funding include:

  • Have financial support from several other partners; and
  • Address targeted conservation needs within Conservation Opportunity Areas, priority streams, areas with high outdoor recreational potential or serve Missourians with limited opportunities to learn about and enjoy the fish, forest or wildlife resources of the state.

If you are not a Conservation Department employee, but are seeking funding for a conservation or outdoor-recreation project that you believe helps meet local, regional or statewide conservation goals, contact your nearest Conservation Department office or e-mail mchf@mochf.org.
